BABAS are a New York-based project from longtime collaborators Sunny Ali and Karna Ray, formerly of the infamous punk band The Kominas. Translating as spiritual elder, father, and friend, BABAS reflects that same spirit of connection while carrying forward the political lyricism, outsider perspective, and restless energy of their earlier work. Combining the playful cynicism of punk rock with the earnest simplicity of country, BABAS turn friendship, resistance, humor, and sharp storytelling into songs that feel raw, searching, and deeply human.
