La Armada are a Dominican-born, Chicago-based hardcore band fusing punk, metal, and Afro-Caribbean rhythms into a sound as urgent as it is distinctive. Formed in the Dominican Republic in 2001 and based in Chicago since 2008, the band channel explosive live energy, crushing riffs, and Caribbean rhythmic influence into politically charged songs confronting colonialism, inequality, and displacement. With releases including Anti-Colonial Vol. 1, Anti-Colonial Vol. 2, and 2026’s Cadáveres, La Armada continue to push hardcore into heavier, more rhythmic, and fiercely original territory.
