Powerplant is the ever-evolving project of Ukraine-born, London-based musician Theo Zhykharyev, blending synth-punk, post-punk, gothic rock, dungeon synth, garage rock, and black metal into something strange, melodic, and completely unpredictable. After breaking through with the lo-fi synth-punk of People in the Sun, Powerplant continued mutating through releases like Stump Soup, Grass, and Heat. On 2026’s Bridge of Sacrifice, Zhykharyev pushes the project into heavier territory, pairing blackened riffs, pounding rhythms, eerie synths, and melancholic hooks with the same warped pop instinct that has made Powerplant a cult favorite in the underground.
